CITADEL MALL MURAL ART PROJECT CALL TO ARTISTS

 Citadel Mall is looking for a Student Artist to paint a bright, bold and exciting mural on a large wall in the Belk wing of the Mall. Student Artists are invited to design and paint a mural that will create interest and excitement for our shoppers. One Student Artist will be chosen and receive a $2,500 scholarship!

Criteria:

• High School Senior Student Artists will complete the artwork on the barricade wall located on the Belk wing of the mall between November 1-31, 2022
• All paint will be supplied by Citadel Mall. Artist is required to supply brushes. Specific material requests will be considered but not guaranteed
• Barricade space is approx. 17’ long x 10 1/2’ tall; primed in a light gray matte finish ready for paint or other enhancement
• Citadel Mall will consider the diversity of beliefs, values and general standards of decency of citizens. We reserve the right to refuse entries at our sole discretion.
• The winning design will be chosen by a panel of Citadel Mall store managers and owners.
• The Artist agrees to grant the Citadel Mall the right to photograph, video or record the likeness of the mural for use by television, films, radio, printed media, etc. to further the aims of any Citadel Mall activity. We encourage photographing, filming, social media sharing and the use of #citadelmallcharleston
• Artist and/or parent/guardian, if under 18 years of age, must sign a Transfer of Title document.
• Scholarship amount will be paid directly to Student Artist or college, technical school, or university of winning Students Artist choice
• Artwork is temporary and may be taken down or moved at any time.
• Artist and/or parent/guardian, if under 18 years of age, must sign a contract and Worker’s Comp waiver

Calendar:

Submission deadline: Friday, September 30, 2022

Notification of selection: Monday, October 17, 2022

Final Design Submission: Monday, October 24, 2022

Artwork Days: November 1 – 31, 2022
